The Popularity Of RVing is definitely on the increase, not just here in the United States, but also in Canada!  This has been reported in an article written in the March 2010 RV News section of the Camping World Newsletter.  Whether working and using the RV for a weekend getaway or traveling to a National Park for a two week vacation, the RV makes the perfect way to go.  

 

Self contained, these vehicles afford the RVer with the ability to save money usually spent on hotel rooms and restaurants.  These Recreational Vehicles also allow the traveler to enjoy the ability of pulling off at road side rest stops along the interstates and take a nap, fix and eat a meal, or to catch up on the news or favorite sports game by turning on their built in satellite TV dish.

 

Americans love to travel, and with the price of first-class airline tickets, being sky high not to mention, the inconvenience with all the hassle of air travel (i.e.: long ticket counter lines, long lines to be processed through security screening process, having to arrive at least a couple of hours early before boarding time, traveling with persons who may be sick, etc.).  With a motor home, you just get it packed and serviced prior to your planned departure date at your leisure.  Get a good night sleep the night before you leave and then start out on your time schedule and not someone else’s schedule.

If your seeking the peaceful calm of the beach, here are a few places to to go: Cannon Beach, Oregon – here you will find Haystack Rock, 235 foot tall that dominates the sandy shore near town.  Then across the US is is St. George Island State Park, Florida -this Sunny Island is linked to the mainstate by a 29-mile bridge.  The Eastern Island is a 2,000-acre state park with miles of beaches and fishing spots.

  

Best of Lakes, Voyageurs National Parks, Minnesota is located on the border of Canada in northern Minnesota, and is a great desination for lake receration.  Then we have Lake Tahoe, Nevada and California.  Lake Tahoe is a great lake destination throughout the year; visitors will find something fantastic to enjoy year-round.  The Nevada shore of Lake Tahoe has casinos and a beautful byway. 

 

Best of Ski Mountains: Midwest: Christal Mountain, Michigan is one of the best destination ski resorts.  It is a great place to visit year round for an extended vacation.  The Mountain has 45 runs served by 9 lifts and over 40 kilomters of cross country traits.

  

Dog Friendly Vacations: Seatlle, Washington – visitors have access to a remarkable number of recreational and other fun activities to enjoy with their dogs.  Santa Rita lodge, Arizona is located in the Madera Canyon area of the Coranado National Forest.  The Santa Maria Lodge is a great destination to escape the hustle and bustle of the city with your dog.

  

Yakama Nation in Toppenish Washigton: it has a great place to stay – they have a library, gift shop, museum, a casino a half block away, etc.  They even have Tee Pee's you can rent.  If your looking for more space!  Go RVing all over the great nation!

 

RVing and Retirement go hand in hand for manny couples!  When you and your spouse hit the retiring mark in life, why not consider investing in an RV to retire in?  This would give you great freedom to travel around to different places that you have always wanted to see, and you would still have the comforts of home right along with you.  Plus you can decide where to go and how long to stay. 

 

RVing has changed significantly over the years, and it seems like they get nicer and more modern every year.  Prices and styles depend on how new the RV is and if it's used or new.  Most Modern RVs come with a flat screen TV, walk in shower, a modern kitchen and equipment, as well as extra storage compartments underneath the RV.  They even have awnings on the outside, which can be perfect to set up lawn chairs and even a table under, for added outdoor comfort.  You can even purchase a screen to close it in and keep it bug free!  You can hook your car up to the back of the RV and take it right along, if you feel like leaving the "house in the lot."  This makes it easier when you want to stop and site see without having to drive the RV around to different places.  

 

There are state parks to see as well as beaches and lakes to swim.  Each city offers places to stop; some aren't very expensive and offer other recreational activities to get you out of the RV.  Some people decide to travel around a while and then settle down somewhere; while others decide to travel for the rest of their lives.  It's all up to you and your RVing preference! 

 

This type of lifestyle is just like any other.  There is still room for chatting and hanging out with other community RVers.  The only difference is that some of their conversations consist of plumbing and electrical matters with the RVs.  RVing makes it possible to visit family and friends that ares scattered around the country.  Did you know that there was a thing called RV internet access?  It is what most fulltime RVers and non-fulltime RVers use to stay connected.  This is a great alternative for fulltimers, because they don't have a mailing address. 

 

When Living In A RV you have to budget your money for everyday on the road living expenses.  Unlike the traditional house, the RV depreciates.  There be times when less traveling is needed to save money.  Fulltimers sometimes have to consider on the road jobs to earn extra cash.  As you can see, the RV Lifestyle isn't really that different.  It serves as a room and board, you can prepare food, and bills still have to be paid.  RVing fulltime is a luxury because you don't have to worry about packing and unpacking. 

America's Largest RV Show is held in Hershey, PA. More than 200 companies show off their best products.  This is really two shows in one!  Not only the famous Hershey RV Show for the public, it is also a popular RV Industry Trade Show.  All types of RVs are represented from the small RV pop-up trailers, truck campers, class B and Class C RVs to the large class A motor homes.

You can watch presentations that cover tips on maintenance, renovations, buying and many other tips.  Wear comfortable shoes and clothing because this event has a span over 26 football fields.  Bring a backpack to put all your information in, just keep it small due to the crowds, bring a digital camera to take pictures of products or ideas you see and this way you won't forget them by the time you get home.

Recreational Vehicles, better known as RVs, come in many shapes and sizes, and there is sure to be one to fit everyone’s taste.  There are the pull behind trailers that have been so popular due to price for many years, toy trailers, fifth wheels, and Motorhomes.  The motor home is the one that most people associate with the word RV.  They are designed to look like city buses, except they are a far cry from them. 

 

Most of the different Types Of RVs all have the basics in common such as a bed, stove, refrigerator, toilet, and sink.  They can range from a simple fold up table that converts to a bed to a more sophisticated private bedroom that has a dresser and a king sized bed.  Many have the ability to expand even more to create extra living space with slide outs.

Even though fuel prices are rising, many families still want to be able to take road trips, see the sights and go camping.  It gets harder and harder to do with fuel prices climbing and the amount of fuel an RV takes to get you there.  While there are many choices out there for smaller autos with the hybrid option, there hasn't been a big jump to larger vehicles.  The size of the vehicle is what has kept progress slow.
