TIPS ON BLACK STREAKS

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT CAUSES BLACK STREAKS ON THE SIDES OF YOUR RV?  AND HOW DO YOU PREVENT THEM?  AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM , HOW DO YOU GET RID OF THEM? —WHEN ANY MOISTURE, LIKE DEW, LIGHT RAIN, ETC. CAUSES  THE DUST AND DIRT  FROM THE RV ROOF TO RUN DOWN THE SIDES OF YOUR  RV, YOU ARE STARTING THE GRADUAL APPEARANCE OF BLACK STREAKS.  WHEN THE SUN SHINES THE MOISTURE EVAPORATES AND THE SMALL AMOUNTS OF DIRT ADHERE TO THE SIDES OF YOUR RV.  GRADUALLY, THE BLACK STREAKS BECOME MORE OBVIOUS AND ANNOYING! —YOU CAN PREVENT THEM WITH THOROUGH WASHINGS, ON A FAIRLY REGULAR BASIS, AND A PROTECTIVE WAXING.  SOMETIMES, THE BLACK STREAKS WILL STILL BE VISIBLE.  IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN THE DIRT AND DUST HAS PROBABLY OXIDIZED INTO THE SURFACE OF YOUR RV.—IF YOUR BLACK STREAKS ARE OXIDIZED, THEN YOU WILL NEED A PRODUCT THAT WILL REMOVE THE LAYER OF OXIDATION AND DIRT.  THE BLACK STREAK REMOVER PRODUCTS WILL TYPICALLY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.  BUT, PLEASE REMEMBER, THAT ANYTHING  THAT REMOVES THE OXIDATION AND DIRT WILL ALSO REMOVE THE WAX!  "NOTE:" IF YOU DON'T RE-APPLY THE WAX IN THE PLACES WHERE YOU APPLIED THE BLACK STREAK REMOVER, YOU MAY ACTUALLY BE MAKING THE PROBLEM WORSE!  THE FINE DIRT PARTICLES WILL ADHERE TO THE RV WALLS EVEN EASIER WITHOUT THE PROTECTION OF THE WAX. —**ANOTHER TIP WHEN USING THE BLACK STREAK REMOVER, IS TO SPRAY IT ON A CLEANING CLOTH FIRST AND THEN PRESS IT ON THE AREAS TO BE CLEANED.  IT'S BETTER THAN SPRAYING IT DIRECTLY ON THE SIDES AND GETTING OXIDATION REMOVER AND OVER SPRAY WHERE IT IS NOT WANTED.—A GOOD RULE OF THUMB IS TO WASH THE RV AT LEAST 3 TO 4 TIMES A YEAR AND WAX IT A COUPLE TOMES A YEAR.——-WE'LL TALK AGAIN, SOON!

TAKING CARE OF YOUR RV  —- Tires (care & safety) —- One of the most important things you can do for your RV is to take care of your tires.  ( It is best for performance and safety to use tires designed for RV use only!)–Because many units are stored outside in all types of weather conditions; you need to be aware of a  few key points of RV  storage.  It is best to park the RV on gravel or  a raised surface.  This  will prevent the tires from setting in water or muddy wet ground.  Tires in wet comditions will crack on the surface and  create safety hazzards, over a short period of time.  The summer  sun will also damage your RV tires if covers are not installed, when not in use. ( Don`t forget to cover the spare, also!)  Also, keep your tire gauge handy and check the tire inflation on a regular basis; to the pressure recommendations printed on the sidewall of the tires.  This will keep your RV tires giving you the performance, safety and  treadware all year round! —- We`ll talk again, soon.

Taking Care Of Your RV Camper

Owning and operating a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Camper requires good driving skills and proper maintenance.  Before purchasing one of your own, do some research to find the right one for you and your family.  There are endless brands and models out there.  Before buying the RV Camper of your dreams, write down the commodities and styles you know you want and like, so you do not get suckered into buying more than you need.  Once you have made your investment, taking care of your RV Camper is essential!

First of all, keep your RV Camper washed and waxed regularly.  Treat it with care and avoid scratches or dents.  If you can, wash it about once a week and have it waxed every two or three months; as long as the water beads off of it, it will be better protected.  Inspect your RV Camper regularly.  You should inspect the top (roof) at least twice a year to check for cracks where leaks could form.  Seal any cracks that could possibly be forming.  While on the roof, check your a/c unit for debris that could gather around it such as leaves and brush.  Check the fins to make sure they are clean and straight.  Your a/c unit should not have to be recharged unless there is a leak in the system that has to be repaired.

On a weekly or monthly basis here is a list that will serve as a guide: check all tire pressure; check all fluid levels; lubricate all grease fittings; check hoses for cracks and/or leaks; check all lights and electrical equipment; check the generator to see that it works properly; check all tanks and the plumbing to see if you have drained everything properly; check the wiper blades to see if they are still soft and have no cracks; and check propane tanks to ensure they are full and have no leaks.  Repair and replace everything as necessary.  Being ahead of the game and well prepared is always better than getting stuck in a rut out in the middle of nowhere.  If you follow these simple instructions then your RV Camper should last for many many years to come!
