Just think about it; what do you enjoy most about camping and being outdoors?  Soaking up the rays, laying on some soft grass under a huge shade tree, hearing the call of nature in your ears, smelling the fresh floral scent in springtime?  Maybe you enjoy watching dogs and owners playing catch Frisbee, riding bikes along a lake-side, taking the children fishing, or hiking through the mountains.

Yes, you can do all of the above and still walk right into your RV (home away from home) to cook a meal in a nice kitchen, eat at a table away from the pesky mosquitoes, and sleep in a comfy bed instead of the rock hard ground.  RVing has so many benefits, and it's considered one of the funniest ways to travel around any country.  Just load up, have a map, and off you go!  Recreational Vehicles offer all the comforts of home, but on wheels.  Park it on a beach and you have an automatic beach house.  Take it up to the secluded mountains and own a piece of your own little, private haven.  What better way to travel and get a taste of living in every region of the country or countries you are traveling?  Find out for yourself if RVing is for you!

RVing With Pets

Many families have pets and want to take them along when they travel.  The ability to be able to bring along your furry friend is what intices many people to choose RV Travel of many other types of travel.  You get all the comforts of home while getting to see somewhere new.

Around 75% of all RVers bring some sort of pet along with them on their trip.  Whether it’s a dog, cat, bird, or any other type of animal, you want to be well prepared before you start your trip.  Make sure the pet you have is suited for traveling.  While some dogs can’t wait for a ride along in the car with you, others may hate it or be terrified.  So its always a good idea to make sure your pet is comfortable with traveling.  Just remember to take your time a prepare your pet if they are not used to traveling.

Another thing you will want to consider, mostly with dogs, is that they are well trained so that they can obey your commands and not be a danger to themselves or others in the vehicle.  Another thing you will want to consider is where your pet will be able to relive themselves.  Not as big a problem with cats and birds so much as with dogs.  Make sure you allow your dog ample time to take care of business before you leave and whenever you stop.  Also be aware of how long your companion is able to hold going.  Get to know your pets routines so you wont have any mishaps.

Make sure you bring plenty of food and water for them, and something a lot of people don’t think about is first aide for their pet.  Being out and about can create situations that would not normally happen and home, and you want to be prepared for this.  Make a plan and look in to any pet hospitals that may be available in the area you plan to visit.  If you take the time to plan for your pet, you will keep them safe and happy.  If you do, then RVing With Pets can be a blast!

RV Lifestyles

If you are planning for retirement, thinking about driving long distances while enjoying the view as you drive across the country, you are in need of the proper lifestyle change.  And the most ideal lifestyle would be that of an RV Lifestyle.  This lifestyle would include taking your family to a camping ground or RV park on a regular basis, all around the great U.S.  There is no better way that going about this in a Recreational Vehicle (RV) of your choice, based on your family need.

The first thing you must find out is what kind of RV would you like to buy, or rent, if your not ready to make that purchase?  If you just don't know which one to buy, consider renting a few different brands, and compare your experiences.  This will help you make he right and comfortable lifestyle change.

So what are the different RV Lifestyles?  They can fit into categories such as: RV Camper, also known as a weekender; Vacationer; Snowbird; and Fulltimer.  Let's go over these!

The RV Camper or Weekender is used for short trip ranging from a couple of days to a week.  RV Camping is a few notches above tent camping with advantages such as keeping all camping gear in the RV, more interior room, cooking facilities, and a sturdier structure.

Vacationers take the RV for longer trips, but return home within a few weeks.  I like to limit this category to those who spend no more than a month in the RV.

Snowbirds like the moderate summers of northern latitudes and warmer winters of the south.  To live in both climates they take the RV for an entire season and return home when the north thaws.  During the summer months the RV generally sits unused until the chill returns once more.

Fulltimers call the RV their only home.  They have no fixed-foundation home to return to and therefore need all the necessities of life contained in the RV.  It is debatable how long one must commit to live in a recreational vehicle to be considered a fulltimer.  I propose that a minimum of one year is a good starting point.

Hopefully this overview will help you decide what kind of RV would you like to own.  Consider what's best for you, and then decide how it can fit into your life, or change your life!

Top Brands OF RVs

RVs — there are so many on the market today!  If you are in the market for a new RV, let's go over some popular brands.  The Jayco Jay Flight has been one of the best travel trailers for the past several years.  The Jayco has a lot to offer for the price, but this trailer is no cheap deal by any means.  Built on a rigid structural I-beam frame, with all plywood construction and solid wood cabinets, the Jayco Jay Flight is one tough and comfortable trailer.

It has been said that Winnebago Motorhomes are the top selling motorhome brand worldwide.  This name has been respected for years.  Maybe you will agree to disagree, and to each their own!

Although the Airstream Trailers have a very classic look about them, they really do have an enormous amount of respect for their customers.  The RVs that they manufacture are cozy and very nice, inside and out; the Airstream company and dealers are quite devoted in maintaining 100 percent customer satisfaction.  The dealers are so comfortable with the product that they list thier home phone numbers publicly in order to keep the promise of obtaining customer satisfaction!

Given the fact of so many to choose from when looking into buying a RV Trailer, it's more of a personal preference and need for deciding which RV best fits the traveling family, or person.

TIPS ON BLACK STREAKS

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT CAUSES BLACK STREAKS ON THE SIDES OF YOUR RV?  AND HOW DO YOU PREVENT THEM?  AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM , HOW DO YOU GET RID OF THEM? —WHEN ANY MOISTURE, LIKE DEW, LIGHT RAIN, ETC. CAUSES  THE DUST AND DIRT  FROM THE RV ROOF TO RUN DOWN THE SIDES OF YOUR  RV, YOU ARE STARTING THE GRADUAL APPEARANCE OF BLACK STREAKS.  WHEN THE SUN SHINES THE MOISTURE EVAPORATES AND THE SMALL AMOUNTS OF DIRT ADHERE TO THE SIDES OF YOUR RV.  GRADUALLY, THE BLACK STREAKS BECOME MORE OBVIOUS AND ANNOYING! —YOU CAN PREVENT THEM WITH THOROUGH WASHINGS, ON A FAIRLY REGULAR BASIS, AND A PROTECTIVE WAXING.  SOMETIMES, THE BLACK STREAKS WILL STILL BE VISIBLE.  IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN THE DIRT AND DUST HAS PROBABLY OXIDIZED INTO THE SURFACE OF YOUR RV.—IF YOUR BLACK STREAKS ARE OXIDIZED, THEN YOU WILL NEED A PRODUCT THAT WILL REMOVE THE LAYER OF OXIDATION AND DIRT.  THE BLACK STREAK REMOVER PRODUCTS WILL TYPICALLY SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.  BUT, PLEASE REMEMBER, THAT ANYTHING  THAT REMOVES THE OXIDATION AND DIRT WILL ALSO REMOVE THE WAX!  "NOTE:" IF YOU DON'T RE-APPLY THE WAX IN THE PLACES WHERE YOU APPLIED THE BLACK STREAK REMOVER, YOU MAY ACTUALLY BE MAKING THE PROBLEM WORSE!  THE FINE DIRT PARTICLES WILL ADHERE TO THE RV WALLS EVEN EASIER WITHOUT THE PROTECTION OF THE WAX. —**ANOTHER TIP WHEN USING THE BLACK STREAK REMOVER, IS TO SPRAY IT ON A CLEANING CLOTH FIRST AND THEN PRESS IT ON THE AREAS TO BE CLEANED.  IT'S BETTER THAN SPRAYING IT DIRECTLY ON THE SIDES AND GETTING OXIDATION REMOVER AND OVER SPRAY WHERE IT IS NOT WANTED.—A GOOD RULE OF THUMB IS TO WASH THE RV AT LEAST 3 TO 4 TIMES A YEAR AND WAX IT A COUPLE TOMES A YEAR.——-WE'LL TALK AGAIN, SOON!

The History Of Recreational Vehicles

Recreational Vehicles, RV for short, go back over 100 years ago and have come a long way since the first ones were being built in 1910.  Charles Kellogg built his own model in 1914 and made it out of a single redwood tree.  It then won the name "The Travel Log," and was Kellog's way of traveling around the country telling people about the beautiful redwood trees of California.

Before the RV came along people had to camp in private rail cars that were pulled along side train routes.  People didn't want to be limited to the rail system, so the RV allowed them to go where they wanted, whenever they wanted!  A few of the Early RVs had a bathroom on board, while others didn't, and the nearest tree or bush was used as a bathroom.  All of the RVs had a place to eat and sleep, and was a nice way to vacation and still have the comforts of home.

Pierce-Arrow was one of the many companies that was producing motorized RVs in 1910.  Some of the companies had to be started in the backyards or in the garages of people who had a dream to get others mobolized.  During WWII several manufacturers built travel trailers to house and transport troops and defense workers.  Then after the war, RVs were a recreational activity for growing, prosperous post war families.  During the Great Depression the Travel Trailers were being used as permanent housing for families.  When first starting out, the RVs didn't have all the accomodations that we have now, but they helped a lot of familes get through tough times, and now the U.S. produces 98% of all RVs and has approximately 450 manufacturers.

RVs that are being made today have a bathroom on board as well as things like TVs and nice kitchens.  They are still a great way to travel around and take the comforts of home with you.  Many people adapt RVing as a new lifestyle (for those who are not tied down by 9 to 5s) such as snowbirds and the retired communities.  For those families who love to vacation on the road, here is your answer!

Celebrities Love RVing Too

RVs are the ultimate way to travel and see America from the Pacific to the Atlantic Oceans.  As a vast beautiful country we are blessed to live in limitless places with ample sites to see.  Travel in style as though you are in you are at home.  Recreational Vehicles are built for convenience and comfort with fabric or leather seats, full kitchens, convenient storage space, I Pod connection, air conditioning, a bathroom, etc.  The vary in design.

RVs come in various sizes: compact; standard; intermediate; and large.  They provide all the right sizes any family could need.  The price for used RVs range from the low $10,000 up to the $1,000,000!  Some common prices are $17,485/2005 thru $28,455/2006, which in today's market is reasonable for short/local vacations for the entire family.

Some popular celebrities enjoy their RVs such as Dolly Parton, which she and her husband feels enriches their marriage and have much fun stopping at the gas stations meeting people and fishing.  Other celebrities enjoying their RVs are Drew Barrymore, Ludacris/Rapper/Actor, Greg Louganis, Will Smith, Terry Bradshaw, Al Roker and many more.

Following his Keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, August, 2004, President was quoted, " As soon as this convention is over we are loading up our kids in an RV and we're traveling around to county fairs, eating ice cream and taking our two girls to the swimming pool."
